Actually die casting or or low pressure casting, gravity casting and other casting (such as lost foam casting), etc., are all belong to the category of casting, but with different casting methods. As far as alloy is concerned, the alloys of different brands are all the same except for different components. In China's current standards, GB/T15115 die-casting aluminum alloy and GB/T1173 casting aluminum alloy other than die-casting aluminum alloy are separately listed. If you look closely at these two standards, the content of Si is the same for alloys of the same brand, such as YL102 and ZL102, except that other components are slightly different. Due to the strong affinity between aluminum and iron, the content of Fe in die casting aluminum alloy is relatively high, which solves the problem of bonding and adhesion between aluminum alloy and die surface. The low pressure casting and metal mould gravity casting have a special coating on the surface of the mould, so the aluminum alloy liquid does not contact with the mould directly, so the content of Fe can be lower. However, with the development of die casting technology and the improvement of the performance of die casting machine, the performance of die casting mould remover has been improved. Therefore, different alloy brands can only be more suitable for the production of a certain casting process.
